Fushqet beach destroyed

The Fushqeta Beach at the Kepi I Rodonit has been destroyed by a heavy vehicle that has taken its sand for several days.

The sand has been used for an apparently illegal construction, since the Ishem has not been contacted for a construction permit in that area. A heavy vehicle and three trucks have transported the beach sand by completely destroying it.

Taking coastline inert materials is completely banned, but this has not stopped the people who have started to dig, open a new road and build in this area.

Individuals who are not residents of this area are now the new owners, and they have started building a few months ago without contacting with the local administration and by damaging the coastline.

The Ishem commune says that the construction is illegal and that they don’t know the owner.

The commune has intervened by suspending the works and demolishing the opened foundations, by asking the help of the National Urban Construction Inspectorate, which suspended the works yesterday.
