The former Governor of the Bank of Albania has finally testified
regarding the vault theft scandal by one of the employees. Fullani
answered to the prosecutors in presence of his lawyer, Maksim Haxhia.
Fullani explained that he didn’t know Bitraj and that the Bank of Albania has made an immediate report right after they found out that the money was missing.
“Everything that took place in that department did not happen because of the lack of rules. Every decision of mine is based on the law. The Department of Emission was not without rules. What happened was because of the human element”, declared the former Governor.
“We gave the respective explanations and presented a detailed memo. We answered to the questions of the prosecution”, declared his lawyer, Maxim Haxhia.
The investigation case for the Bank of Albania vault theft is divided in four parts. In the days to come, the experts hired by the Prosecution will give the exact sum of the stolen money.
