The second week of the new academic year has started today in Albanian schools with normal class times and schedules, as before the pandemic.
Apart from wearing a mask and maintaining hygiene, the classes were not divided into groups but the students sat on the benches in pairs and lessons took place in full 45 minutes duration.
“A miracle. With just two hours of lessons a day, the children did not learn anything, now they will be better in lessons and we (parents) will organize the day better… we are very satisfied”, says one of the parents.
For the first time during the Covid-19 period, students also went on long the long recess between classes, filling school yards and hanging out with each other.
But although the Ministry of Education announced that there will be no shift teaching from this Monday, in schools with large numbers of students and in the facilities used by two educational institutions, teaching continues in the morning and in the afternoon.
