Mark Frroku resigned from his mandate as MP of the Shkoder district. He
chose to submit a public letter the day the Parliament discussed the
draft-law for decriminalization.
He chose to leave the room like Arben Ndoka, through a resignation letter. Ndoka resigned on the day that the Parliament voted to revoke the mandate of another Socialist MP, Armando Prenga.
Frroku did not hand over the letter officially, but Top Channel has secured it through his lawyers. The Christian Democratic Party MP is in prison since April 3rd, held on account of the Belgian justice system.
Frroku is accused in Belgium of murder, and he says that the case has been going on for 17 years in Belgium, without a final verdict.
Frroku says this is part of a long history of political persecution of his family and his life, which starts, according to him, after a “bitter divorce” with the Democratic Party.
Frroku says that he was sponsoring the DP, he was not considered a criminal. Now he claims he is facing untrue accusations.
Frroku apologizes with the members of the majority for the troubles caused because of this matter.
The Central Election Commission list says that he will be replaced by Arben Frroku, his brother, but this cannot happen because he is also accused of the murder of the Chief of Police, Dritan Lamaj. The next name on the list is a woman that might become the newest MP of the majority.
