A Spokesperson of the French Foreign Ministry, Romain Nadal, declared
that the legal action taken against Haradinaj has no political purposes.
According to him, the procedures are based on a request of the
Interpol.
Nadal said that this doesn’t change France’s policy for supporting reconciliation in the region, and for the continuing dialogue between Belgrade and Prishtina.
“France is one of the first countries that recognized the independence of Kosovo and we have close and friendly relations”, Nadal said.
According to Nadal, “Haradinaj was arrested on January 4th based on an arrest order issued by Interpol. It was implemented automatically, based on the international commitments of France”.
