French Ambassador: “Lower voices in Parliament”

The French Ambassador to Tirana, Berbard Fitoussi, was asked about the
political situation during a visit in Shkoder. He said that the EU path
requires cooperation and dialogue between the political parties for
fighting the organized crime.

“What I am more interested is especially how Albania will find a way to join the EU. One of the five conditions set for Albania when receiving the candidate status, the fifth condition, provides dialogue and compromise between the political forces. This is maybe because the fourth priority, which is related to the fight without compromise against the organized crime should be done without compromise. I want that Albania finds the path towards Europe without violence or concerns, and that it can find the right path. I don’t want to give lectures, but during my six motnhs in Albania, I have been led to understand that we must have trust on the Albanian people and their path towards the EU”.

When asked about the harsh debates in Parliament, the French ambassador declared that Parliament Members should speak more and shout less”.
