Free cochlear implants for hearing impaired children

Hearing impaired children will receive free cochlear implant, offered by the Tirana University Hospital Center.
Three children have received the first free implants for which they would have paid 27.000 EUR in private hospitals.
Besim Boci, Director of the ORL departmet, said the two first interventions were already finalized without complications.
Ogerta Manastirliy, Director of the hospital, said this was one of the most important objectives of their ORL department.
This service was promised by Health Minister Ilir Beqaj, after realizing free packages for cardiology, dialysis and kidney patients.
