The Democratic Party accused Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Health
Minister, Ilir Beqaj, of stealing 1.7 billion ALL in none months from
the Health Sector.

MP Albana Vokshi said for the media there is a huge difference between the sum that has been paid from the Social Insurance Fund and the number of citizens who received the free check-up service.

“Edi Rama not only gave 120 million EUR to his friend and benefactor, Vilma Nushi, but he is deepening corruption even more by regulating receipts so that she can receive full sums even if the service is not offered. She received a total of 550 million ALL, which means that 318.000 people have been checked, since the cost for a single person is 1700 ALL. But the official data show that 216.000 people have been checked up. The worst thing is that the Health Insurance Fund has not realized any check up so far but has taken Nushi’s figures for granted. Edi Rama has paid her for the check-up of 318.000 people, 170 million ALL more than the service that was offered”, said Albana Vokshi.

To secure this money, according to Vokshi, Minister Beqaj fired 600 employees and cut their New Year bonus.
