France, fake news mentioning Albania confirmed by French Police

A news report was circulating yesterday about a large amount of money supposedly blocked in the main airport of Paris. It said that 23 million EUR were found in the suitcases of a person from Mali, who was supposed to take them to Albania for money laundering.

The media said that the person from Mali had been arrested at the Charles de Gaulle airport and the money was split in two suitcases.

However, the Albanian Embassy in France said that it has been confirmed by the French Police that this was in fact fake news.
