An extra-marital love affair has been the motive of a horrible tragedy
in Gjonomadh village, Korce, where Bashkim Latollari killed for people
in cold blood.
His only motive seems to have been an affair he had with a married woman, who suddenly decided to stop her 4-year relation with the killer.
Beliman and Daniela Mecollari are the first victims of this tragedy. The killer executed his lover and her husband, and then went to the house of Rexhep and Valentina Metellari, who were Beliman’s relatives.
Without any hesitation, he has killed both of them, bringing the balance of his victims to four. Then he handed himself over at the village reeve, where he confessed the crime.
After being interrogated by the police, the man admitted the charges and declared that he had been having a 4-year relation with Daniela Mecollari, and that this relation had been broken because of the intervention of the Metellari couple.
According to the killer, they had convinced the 30-year-old woman, Daniela Mecollari, to end the relation with him and keep staying with her husband. This decision has caused the killer to end the life of four people.
Two of the victims, Rexhep and Valentina Metellari, had just been released from prison, after serving a long time for a murder they had committed in 1992. The second victim was Rexhep’s cousin.
The killer also has prior convictions.
