The Director of the Banknote Emitting Department, Dorian Collaku, went
at the Tirana Police today 12 hours after the Prosecution issued an
arrest order for power abuse. Collaku appeared without any lawyer.

The number of suspects for the theft of 713 million ALL goes to ten, while others are under investigation. The Investigation Group has not decided yet what will happen to them. The Prosecution has the concession of Bitraj, who confirms that the 713 million ALL were stolen for 4 years. The nine other suspects say they were not aware and their superiors are the ones responsible.

Sources said that Collaku did not admit to speak give a declaration, saying that he was still traumatized and that he would use another moment for the declaration.

“I don’t know anything. I will speak another time, with a lawyer”, Collaku declared, being suspected as the person who should have proposed a detailed regulation for the Treasury.

The Prosecution claims that the former director, based on a decision of the Supervisory Council of the Bank in 2012, was tasked to issue sub-legal acts, regulations and instructions for the functionality of the department he led.

The Prosecution says that from January 2013 to March 2014, no initiative was taken, leaving space to abuses. The lack of a regulation was also declared by two other former employees, who told the police that the treasury had no regulation.
