The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, will be called as witness at
the trial against Emiliano Shullazi, after a request made by the
defendant regarding the threat made to the Rector of the Tirana
University, Mynyr Koni, and his predecessor, Dhori Kule.
Berisha has declared that Shullazi asked Koni to withdraw, or his son would be kidnapped.
After three witnesses declared that they were informed by the former Prime Minister about Koni’s threat, has made Shullazi request former PM Berisha in court as a witness, so that he can tell who gave him that information.
The former Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri, also asked the Court why they had not summoned Berisha. He kept accusing the prosecution of acting on politican bases, and reminded that the two professors had spoken based on assumptions.
The Chief of Police, Haki Cako, said that his name for the threat had been mentioned by Dhori Kule, who didn’t testify but left the room for unexplained family reasons. Majlinda Keta and Shezai Rrokaj also testified at court.
