Sali Berisha continues to defend himself from accusations of state property abuse, as he said today from the headquarters of the Democratic Party, that he is not alone in this battle and has increased support from democratic forums.
When the court hearings where he was to appear had not yet started, Sali Berisha convened the chairmanship of the DP opposition Reestablishment Group, as an emergency to discuss the opposition’s reaction to the latest developments.
“It’s time to get up, to fight for democracy and dignity. It has nothing to do with what happened, this is simply one more factor to organize the battle with no return”, said Berisha, referring to the accusations against him and the arrest of his son-in-law Jamarber Malltezi.
Berisha warned the activation of the democrats movement in several stages, from those at the table, to civil disobedience. But Berisha said that he will announce the final decision on Friday when the DP National Council will meet, where it seems that he will also have the cooperation of the other opposition leader, Ilir Meta.
“Battle without return in any form. Any form of protest, because there is something, Edi Rama does not accept any other opposition, only the one under his control, when the opposition was not controlled by him, he showed them the place, so this will be a battle until victory. I have very good coordination with Meta.”
For the members of the chairmanship of the re-establishment group, Berisha’s file in the SPAK prosecutor’s office does not belong only to him, therefore the counter-response will be from the group.
“Faced with such a regime, there is only one way for me as a person, civil disobedience to undo the criminal and corrupt regime from the roots”, said the democrat Flamur Noka.
“This is a matter for the opposition, not only for Berisha”, said senior DP official, Jozefina Topalli.
