In the village where Suela Saliaj was born, neighbors and residents said that they are experiencing with pain the news that the young woman has lost her life, suspectedly killed by her ex-husband Renato Muhaj.
In Graçan of Mallakastra, relatives and residents talk about the tragedy that happened in Florida with the Albanian couple who had gone to the USA by way of the American diversity lottery.
“She was a very good girl, from one of the best families. We found out the news through the girl, she has been in America for over 15 years, I don’t know the husband, they say he is from Mallakastra, according to the data he wanted to take their daughter after they had been separated for a year or two, but some cAlbanian onsider the woman as an object they can trade, it is very unfortunate”, said one of the neighbors.
“I remember her, she is a very good girl, because her daughter used to play with my daughters when she was little,” said the neighbor.
“The woman’s father was a nurse, then they fled the village and lived in Fier,” said a neighbor.
“”Her father was a nurse, he worked for two or three years in our village, after that they went to Fier where he won the visa for America, it’s been almost 20 years, 15-20 years,” said another.
In the village, the house of the Saliaj family is in ruins. After moving to Fier, they lived in the United States for almost 20 years, while after the separation of the couple, there were reports of a conflict over the custody of their daughter.
