The former Dibra Mayor, Shukri Xhelili, asked the Court to be left free
until trial, claiming that the charges raised by the Prosecution are not
founded.
The Supreme Court has former verdicts that consider unauthorized videos not usable for evidence. The former Mayor reminds the same precedent with the Meta-Prifti scandal.
The Prosecution of Serious Crimes questioned the girl who made the video, showing the Mayor asking for sexual favors in exchange of a job.
Sources confirmed that due to the shock, the girl has given her testimony in presence of her mther. “I filmed him because of the injustice I faced”, the girl said.
The former Mayor has not been questioned yet. He is kept in prison for passive corruption.
