Former Defense Minister comments transferring the Civilian Emergency under Defese Ministry

“The state reserves will also go be transferred there and the entire emergency system will be reformed in cooperation with the local government”, Rama declared a few days ago.

The former Minister of Defense, ally of the Democratic Party, Fatmir Mediu, supports the idea but he says that they must be careful to not damage the orientation and purpose of the Armed Forces.

“We must keep in mind that the Armed Forces are not a communal brigade. They serve only when all other state and local structures are exhausted. I think there’s the need for political discussions”, Mediu declared.
