Forest Police inspects trucks in Tirana

Although the massacre in forests is continuing by destroying even the
national parks, the Forest Police Inspectorate has controlled the
illegality of this activity in the suburbs of the Albanian capital.

The inspectors contacted the businesses that sell firewood at the Kamza Bridge, in Tirana. Object of this control are only licensed subjects.

The Forest Police inspector, Bibe Dodaj, says that the situation is under control. He says that there is only one Forest Police checkpoint for the loaded cars that come from Dajti and Martanesh, while the cars that come from north, loaded with illegal wood, get caught only if a Forest Police agents happens to be in place.

The area near the Ura e Kamzes, populated by residents coming from northern Albania, has turned into a big site where forest wood is unloaded, cut and sold. Dodaj says that in two days they have inspected 22 selling points, four of which had abused with the declared quantity and were fined with 80.000 ALL. The fines vary from 80.000 to 100.000 ALL. The authors are not aware about the trees that are cut and where they are cut, if the national parks are destroyed or not.
