Foreign tourists use the rainy days to visit Vlora’s historic centers. A group of tourists visited the Zvernec island, the Saint Mary Church. They come from Russia, France and Italy.
“We found it on guide tour and we liked to visit this Orthodox place. We are Orthodox ourselves”, the Russian tourist says.
“It’s the first time we visit Albania. I had never thought I would visit here, but we decided it suddenly after we were told about this place”, the Russian tourist says.
However, the Zvernec island fascinates visitors with its natural beauties as well. Some Italian tourists say it shouldn’t have such modest publicity.
After the reconstruction of a bridge that connects the Island to the coast, it seems that the absence of a guide for tourists is the last obstacle to transforming this monastery into an attraction.
