Official sources said for Top Channel that the Foreign Ministry, led by
Ditmir Bushati, will be called Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
It seems that Rama has reflected after he decided to merge the Ministry of European Integration, and the lack of the words “European integration” from the new government, a concern that was expressed even by the EU ambassador to Tirana.
On the same time, the Prime Minister has resolved this issue by calling it “Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs”.
This naming might resolve the issue, but it makes Albania look as if it is in the EU. EU countries have a ministry for Europe, without “integration” in addition.
Maybe the new name of the Ministry is a message addressed also to European politicians who question Albania’s integration desire, due to the Muslim majority.
