The Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, met this Wednesday with the
British counterpart, Philip Hammond, showing the support of Albania in
the fight against terrorism.

This issue was the focus of a joint press release, in which both Ministers talked about several other matters.

“Albania will be by the side of NATO countries in the fight against terrorism. We are part of the international coalition and have had an excellent cooperation in NATO”, Bushati declared.

On the same lines, the British Foreign Minister thanked Albania for the support and appealed to intensify the fight against terrorism.

Minister Bushati said they also spoke about the security in Balkan and NATO’s role of stabilization.

Hammond expressed his country’s support for the European future of Albania, and greeted the progress held so far with the reforms.

The attention of the Albanian government, he underlined, should be focused on the fight against organized crime and corruption.

“We support Albania’s EU accession and welcome the progress with the reforms. The organized crime and corruption hamper the economic development, that’s why these problems need to be resolved”, Hammond said.

He underlined that the UK has an important interest for the future of Western Balkan.

As for the organized crime, Hammond thanked the Albanian government for the cooperation, especially for the drug traffic.
