Former Parliament Speaker and Democratic Party MP, Jozefina Topalli,
summoned the Foreign Minister of Albania, Ditmir Bushati, for an
interpellation at the Parliament’s Foreign Commission, after Albania’s
mistakenly voted at the UN in favor of a treaty for banning nuclear
weapons.
Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati said the vote, which was against what had been agreed with our allies, was a human mistake by Albania and they had requested to change it immediately.
Bushati explained that the same mistake was made by two other countries, Italy and Estonia. The UN will publish the corrected vote of Albania by March 2017.
The Minister also spoke about his visit in Iran. For the first time, he admitted they had also discussed about the mujahideen refugees who were accepted by Albania.
“We agreed to keep this matter separated from our bilateral relations, since it could damage our relations even further”, Bushati said.
