The Foreign Minister of Albania, Ditmir Bushati, met with Albanian
immigrants in Athens to whom he introduced the “Online Consulate”
service. He declared that Greece will soon lift the Apostille Stamp
regime.
“I think that the first important element is that users will stop losing time and money by being physically present for applying. They spend not only for the government fees, but they also have to take a leave from work and travel on their expenses”, Bushati said.
As for the immigrants’s request to have their children learn Albanian in Greece, Bushati admitted the government had not done enough. He reminded there had been obstacles from the Greek border policy, such as the recent seizing of Albanian ABC books.
However, Bushati declared that the late founder of “Top Media”, Dritan Hoxha, has played a bigger role to help their children learn Albanian.
“Another important discussion is related to education. We have a deficit here and I admit it. Dritan Hoxha and Digitalb have done more than our governments for promoting our language and identity”, Bushati said.
