Albania and Greece are closer to finding a solution for the War Law,
which penalizes Albanian citizens from entering Greek territories.

Albania’s Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, said tonight on Top Story, hosted by Sokol Balla, that the discussions are undergoing.

“It is a matter that should not produce a news report, but we are closer to the solution than before with the War Law”, he said.

The Foreign Minister called this law an unacceptable practice.

“Several Greek governments have denied having a War Law and have not even considered the case. It has been a difficult process. Athens and Tirana have discussed this and there is agreement for how to resolve it”, Bushati declared.

Bushati declared that the talks are undergoing, but the problems between both countries are divided in categories.

“We have agreed with Greece to discuss based on a package that categorizes matters with the principle that nothing has to be considered as agreed on, if we don’t agree with everything”, he said.

As for the maritime border, Bushati declared that three different expert opinions have reached the conclusion that the agreement rejected by the Constitutional Court damages Albania’s interests, while experts from both countries are working for a solution.

“We are not going to negotiate or renegotiate the first agreement”, Bushati declared.
