Foreign Minister about NATO: “Some Balkan countries try to play for both sides”

The Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, and the Defense Minister,
Mimi Kodheli, commemorated Albania’s 8th NATO accession anniversary in a
meeting with Tirana students.
Minister Bushati said NATO is not only a military organization, but more of a political one. And when we talk about politics, Bushati said, things get tough in Balkan because there are countries that still try to play in both sides.
“There are countries in Balkan like Croatia and Montenegro, determined about NATO and the EU. There are other countries with one hand to the USA and EU, and the other to Russia and China”, said Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati.
Defense Minister Mimi Kodheli is on the same line. She said that Albania’s and even NATO’s borders are threatened by the South and East. For this reason, there are always more discussions about handling this common risk.
