Albanian migrants who chose to spend the last days of the year with their families in their own country are now leaving for the countries where they live and work.

A high number of people is registered at the border points, due to the departure of many people who spent the New Year’s holidays near their relatives in Albania.

At the southernmost border point of Kakavija, a normal passage flow continues, where during the last 24 hours 5,015 people have left for Greece, while the pace of entries continues to be somewhat higher than usual with almost 3,300 entries registered.

Both sides say that they are working at full counter capacity, while the waiting time in the queue is an average of 40 minutes.

During the last 24 hours, 2591 people have entered the southeastern point of Kapshtica and another 5192 have left. In Qafë Thane, 2634 people entered and 2848 people left.

During the second and third day of the New Year, 952 passengers, 163 cars and 21 trucks and buses left from the port of Vlora.

Meanwhile, the arrivals from Italy to the port of Vlora were 446 passengers, 61 small vehicles and 10 trucks.

The number of travelers using the ferry lines between Durrës and the Italian ports of Bari and Ancona has increased significantly. Unlike the last two weeks of December, the flow this time is in the opposite direction of movement.

According to data from the Durrës seaport the number of people registered at the exit is higher than those entering and during the next three days the number of cruises will be doubled to cope with the flow of those leaving for Italy.
