The heavy rains that have continued for 24 hours have aggravated the situation on the streets of the coastal city of Durrës.
A good part of them have become impassable making it difficult for people go about their daily business.
The circulation of vehicles and pedestrians has been disrupted as water has flooded the sidewalks causing delays and blockage of business activity in the shops along the water-occupied roads.
The situation is more critical in neighborhoods 12, 17, Shkozet and former “Keneta” where it is reported that water has entered some apartments, while the canals have come out of their flowing bed.
In these conditions, the hydropower plants have worked at full capacity, but the amount of rainfall and the condition of the sewerage network has made it difficult to withdraw water from flooded roads.
