The European Parliament Member, Knut Fleckenstein, arrived this Tuesday to Tirana attending an official visit, which is focused on the European Parliament Report
for Albania.
Fleckenstein first met with the US Ambassador, Donald Lu, and the EU Ambassador to Tirana, Romana Vlahutin, at the Rogner hotel. Vlahutin was coming from a meeting with Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The ambassadors discussed about coordinatig their stances and giving maximal support for the Judiciary Reform and the International Monitoring Operation.
After this meeting, Fleckenstein said for the media that the protest looks calm, but every political force should stay in Parliament. .
After meeting with Prime Minister, Fleckenstein said he was optimistic about the implementation of the judiciary reform, the vetting law and the decriminalization process.
When asked by Top Channel if he would meet the opposition leader and other protesters inside the tent, Fleckenstein said he would meet with the opposition leader at his party’s office, but without making any negotiations.
Fleckenstein continued his meetings with the Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, in presence of Justice Minister Petrit Vasili.
