The sudden change of the Ministers belonging to the Socialist Movement
for Integration has not brought any surprise for other government
changes. The SMI proposition for changing its government representatives
has encouraged Prime Minister Berisha to fill the post of the Interior
Minister, which remained vacant after Bujar Nishani was elected as the
next President.
Berisha appointed Flamur Noka as Interior Minister, the MP that led the list of DP candidates in 2009 for the Kukes district. Noka, who is a doctor by profession and, but who has exerted it for only a few years, is known among the democrats for the long and uninterrupted career of the DP, starting from the former-leader of the Youth Forum and to the post of the Organization Secretary of the DP.
Flamur Noka is also known as a close collaborator of Prime Minister Berisha. Noka has held no government post so far, but only within the Democratic Party.
Noka’s appointment as Minister of Interior, together with the three new Ministers proposed this Friday by the SMI, have ended the presumptions that Berisha would use the vacant Minister seat for deeper government changes, before the launch of the electoral campaign for the next year.
