Fishing sector employment increased 4-fold since 2013

Official data from the Ministry of Agriculture show that the quadrupled exports of fishing in the past five years has also increased the number of new jobs in the sector.

The growth has been significant, from 2200 employees in 2013 to 8200 in 2018, especially in the past years, when there have been more fishing processing plants.

The growth potential is still high, since the fishing fleet is getting larger.

Fishing is the only sector in Albania which is supported by the government with tax free fuel.
