The symbolic first phone call with Kosovo’s new own country code +383 was held during a press conference at the Kosovo “Telekom” offices.
Director Agron Mustafa said this is good news for Kosovo, because the prefix had been missing since the country was liberated from Serbia.
He explained that the new country code will eliminate older ones that were being used so far (from Serbia, Monaco, Slovenia).
The Serbian country code +381, which has been used for fixed phone lines, will be removed by the end of the year.
