Federica Mogherini, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and
Security/Vice-President of the European Commission, has invited Kosovo
and Serbia representatives in a high-level meeting, the first after the
“train” incident.
The meeting will be held on January 24th, for normalization of relations between Belgrade and Prishtina.
Mogherini says that “The developments over the past days underline the need for increased commitment and engagement by the two sides through the Dialogue. Progress in the normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia remains of paramount importance for both sides, for the European Union, and the Western Balkans as a whole.”
Last week, Kosovo authorities stopped a Serb train with nationalistic slogans from entering Kosovo, an episode that caused harsh reactions from Belgrade, and even war declarations from President Tomislav Nikolic.
