Puka’s forests are incinerating from fires, and flames are threatening
the lives of people in remote villages.

You notice that fires are out of control since at the entrance of the
city of Puka, where the cloud of smoke coming from the rural areas has
created a fog. The area where the fire is causing the greatest damage
is village Orosh in Qafë Mali. About 100 army troops are deployed in
the field and their intervention has started to normalize the
situation. The cloud of smoke in the area is very problematic.

The Mayor of Qafë Mali, Hile Kola says that the area has been on fire
for 12 days and over 300 ha of pine forests are incinerated and the
mountain crown is also burning.

While at Orosh village residents have started to open drains near the
houses to protect from fire.

What is causing the fire in these parts seems very destructive, but
what fires have left seems very miserable. Whole masses of pines look
like desert.

There are 16 active fires throughout the country and the most
problematic situation is in the northeast. According to the Ministry
of Interior, the aggravated situation continues in Puka, in the
municipality of Terthore in Kukes and in Lure, as well as in the
forest of Bozdovec in Korça.

Meanwhile, fire was brought under control in Dajti Mountin. As a
result of the aggravation of the situation created by the fires that
have swept some areas of our country, the General Staff of the Armed
Forces and all Armed Forces structures, since yesterday are on full
alert, putting also on the alert all forces and means to cope with
this aggravated situation.
