Today, 11 fires have were found active in the Fier district in southwestern Albania, of which three are currently active, in Marinzë, Peshtan and Darëzeze.
All the fire departments of Fier, Patos, Rroskovec, Albpetrol are currently engaged in fightling the flames and help has been requested from the municipality of Dimal.
Meanwhile, the most problematic remains Darëzeza, where the large-scale fire has engulfed the pine forest and due to the strong winds it is difficult to bring it under control.
Several fire engines and numerous volunteer forces are in the area, however the flames have progressed deep into the forest, making the intervention difficult. Based on the assessment of the situation in the area, a request has been made for intervention from the air.
In other footage sent from the village of Kolonje e Fieri, the flames seem to have arrived near the highway, burning everything they find.
The municipalities of Fier, Patos and Ballsh were engulfed by fires today, marking one of the most difficult days for 2023 in the area.
According to reports from the field, there were at least 11 active outbreaks, of which only 3 remain at present.
