Finance Minister to small business owners, no fines for first-time VAT payers

The Minister of Finances, Arben Ahmetaj, ordered the tax administration to not put fines against small businesses that are being part of the new scheme for the first time.

Ahmetaj asks inspectors to assist businesses, help them correct mistakes and with the procedures for declaring VAT.

All punitive measures must be avoided until the end of the year.

According to the Minister, it will be a responsibility of the tax administration to verify delays and failures to declare taxes.
