The government has reacted for the first time after the poll held by the American Chamber of Commerce, which proves that the business climate in Albania has deteriorated during the past year.
The Minister of Finances, Arben Ahmetaj, said that the measurement of the American Chamber of Commerce businesses doesn’t coincide with their financial situation.
“Most of the 142 companies have reported a higher balance, while they feel more controlled. This has only one explanation. They expect more from the government and this is healthy”, Ahmetaj said.
According to Ahmetaj, the positive economic growth has been confirmed not only by the International Monetary Fund but also by the well-known group, Euromoney, specialized in financial evaluations of countries.
According to Euromoney, the risk in the Albanian economy has decreased.
However, same as the IMF, the Minister of Finances admits that the risk in the Albanian economy remains at high levels, dictated by the public debt.
“The debt level must be reduced. Obligations must be paid so that the macro supports economic growth”, Ahmetaj declared.
