The Minister of Finances and Economy, Arben Ahmetaj, declared that next year the government aims to reach an economic growth of 4.2%, one of the highest in the region.
“2017 was a very good economic year, in comparison to others, with an economic growth 4 times higher than four years ago. We have a consolidated trajectory for the public debt. Albania has turned into a model, showing that from the total chaos of public and macroeconomic finances in 2013, it has reduced the debt and has an exemplary deficit of 2%. Next year we aim to reach 4.2%, one of the highest in the region”, Ahmetaj declared.
He spoke about employment as well, saying that the government has a detailed platform for creating more jobs.
“The government and objective of the Prime Minister to create jobs is based on a detailed platform with concrete plans. The final purpose is to guarantee stable cooperation and intensive communication with employment offices, which have already taken a pro-active role of intermediation”, he said.
