The Council of Ministers appointed this Tuesday Arben Ahmetaj as
Minister of Finances, after the immediate resignation of Shkelqim Cani.
Milva Ekonomi, former Deputy Health Minister, replaced Ahmetaj.
The causes of Cani’s resignation remain unknown, but the Prime Minister thanked him for the cooperation and high-level professionalism.
“Cani carried out one of the most difficult government duties with complete integrity”, Rama declared.
Cani valued the cooperation with the government leader “for successfully overcoming the difficult financial situation”.
The most recent government cabinet change was the replacement of the Justice Minister, Nasip Naco, by Ylli Manjani, both from the Socialist Movement for Integration.
