For many Albanians in deep Librazhd and Dibra areas, it is easier to turn into Bulgarians and look for jobs in the EU, than in Albania.
The bad economy of the area, the infrastructure, and high unemployment has forced many to ask for a Bulgarian passport and emigrate.
“We have been forgotten by the state, although we are 100% Albanians”, they say.
Just to receive a birth certificate or even to pay their energy bill, they have to drive for more than two years.
Due to these conditions, many of them have found a solution to take a Bulgarian passport and look for jobs in the EU.
Residents say that many citizens in Tirana, Kukes and Tropoja are doing the same.
