The Democratic Party staff at the Municipal Unit 7 have distributed food
package for the local residents, mainly the Roma community members.
To retrieve the packages, the locals had to verify they were voters of that area with an identity card. Fiks Fare has proved that the people selected to receive the food were chosen by people involved in electoral headquarters who know the terrain of Municipal Unit 7.
These people who have confirmed lists with people who vote the right wing, the left and also the uncertain ones, are also the ones who distribute the food in exchange of the vote.
The Roma community is the poorest contingent with high unemployment rates and with large economic problems, and any kind of aid gives them a lot of help.
Fiks Fare has been able to film the itinerary of the procedure with the residents giving their identification cards before receiving the food.
Photos clearly show that the people distributing the packages check the recipients’ identity cards while wearing shirts with Democratic Party logos.
Two weeks before the voting, Fiks Fare brings other facts how the Democratic Party are looking the vote of the Tirana residents in exchange of a food package.
