‘Fiks Fare’/ Education office brakes the law as school is left 10 days without a teacher with the post “saved” for the vice principal

Investigative program Fiks Fare on Top Channel brought tonight the case of the education office in Elbasan in central Albania, which left the 9-year-old primary school “Sule Misiri” without a math teacher for 10 days, as the position of the retired teacher was not declared vacant.

The seat was reportedly reserved for a vice principal from another school who resigned there to move to this school.

Fiks Fare brought the complaint of a teacher candidate, who tells her problem anonymously because she says is “afraid” to give an interview, but gives irrefutable facts that the school has been without a teacher for days and the teaching post was taken without being announced vacant.

Fiks Fare reporters communicated with the director of the 9-year-old school, who admitted that the children have been without a teacher, and that the appointment was made more than 10 days after the other teacher had retired. “I don’t know who it was and where it came from, I only know that it is under contract,” says the director.

Journalists also demand an answer from the Elbasan Education Office, an institution which left the school without a teacher for 10 days and violated the law on pre-university education by not declaring the position vacant when the teacher retired.

Ermir Çela, head of ZVA Elbasan, was open with the journalists at first and explained the procedures, but when he was faced with the question of why he did not announce the vacancy but waited for the resignation of the deputy director, then he asked for an official request.
