Fight against extremism

The recent arrests made by the police prove this determination, according to the Foreign Minister:

“All Albanian governments have shown a clear political will to fight this phenomenon. Our alliance with the strategic partner, the United States of America, and our presence in NATO, makes us fight this phenomenon without mercy. The fact that this cellule was discovered, shows the high level of our police efficiency. I thank all those who participated in this extraordinary and complicated operation. I see it as an evidence of our success and of our strength in hitting this extremely damaging activity, which cannot be prevented and attacked only through legal mechanisms, but it should be prevented and attacked with all possible ways, and the State Police has delivered on this point”, Bushati declared.

The Albanian Foreign Minister gate this statement while answering to the media interest regarding the phenomenon they called “jihadism”.

The uestions were made during a joint press conference with the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, is visiting Albania and received the same questions.

The Foreign Minister of the UAE declared that the participation of young people in these fights is very wrong. He also underlined a possible consequence:

“People who get involved in armed conflicts on the soil of other countries, turned into a real concern for their government and their people after they return. They come back with different ideas which they want to spread in their countries through propaganda. Let’s make sure that our youth will not fall prey to them. Let’s work together on this, with everyone taking part in raising awareness among the public opinion. Unfortunately, there are three countries encouraging these people to participate in extremist conflicts”, declared the Foreign Minister of the UAE.

The Foreign Minister of the UAE arrived in Tirana and met with his Albanian counterpart, Ditmir Bushati, and spoke about the interest of both countries for economic cooperation, which is the purpose of the increased frequency of meetings with the Albanian government. The UAE, a country with high investing potentials, see Albania as a good destination of investments.

“The agreements for eliminating double taxation and tax evasion between Albania and the UAE will be a good occasion for consolidating our investing presence in Albania. During my visit in Kosovo we agreed to organize a forum of investments in the UAE. We hope that this forum will be organized with Albania too”, declared the Foreign Minister of the Emirates.

The UAE are known as important investors in airlines, infrastructure and soft loans in our region, such as with Serbia.

The agreements that were signed with Albania foresee removal of double taxation in order to increase commercial exchange between our countries.
