The work for cleaning the Fierza lake from plastic wastes has started.
There might be 25 tons of waste materials dispersed in the lake coast.
More than 30 vehicles and fishing vessels were engaged in the cleaning process. Prefect Gjici declared that they have started negotiating with the Kosovo sie to find a final solution about the wasted that are dumped from Albania’s and Kosovo’s communes.
The Albanian Ambassador to Kosovo, Bardhyl Minxhozi, was engaged to contact with the mayors of municipalities that dump their waste materials on the lake.
The materials will be divided in two groups, recyclable or not. Experts valued that the pollution is very big, and the polluted surface in Fierza is 25 suqare kilometers, when its total surface is 81.6 kilometers.
