250 people and vehicles are needed for cleaning the Fierza Lake from the waste that have been dumped on its surface.
This is the evaluation made by six expert groups who are drafting a map for the areas that need intervention.
“We have gone on terrain to see the hottest spots and to see how to clean this waste. We think that we need 250 people, together with the necessary equipment”, declared Abdulla Domi, General Secretary of the Prefecture.
They are also discussing the possibility of sending the waste materials to a recycling company.
The operation will involve the structures of the Albanian Power Corporation (KESH). Ergys Verdho, Director of the Production Unit at the Hydropower Plant declared that the waste materials slow down the energy production.
“KESH was obliged to appeal authorities in both sides of the border to take measures for stopping this natural catastrophe”, Verdho declared.
20 vehicles and 30 floating vessels are needed for cleaning the 40 bays of the lake, where there are 120 cubic meters of plastic materials.
