Fier, Ndreka withdraws lawsuit

21/11/2012 00:00

“Today I declare that this issue has no value in the Court of Fier,
because it has already been resolved by the court”, this is the
declaration of the discharged Socialist chairman of the Fier Council,
Vangjel Ndreka, who had asked a retrial of the case that turned into the
main condition for the Socialist Party to pass the three qualified
majority laws that are required for the EU candidate status.

With this stance, Ndreka withdrew the suit and declared that some previous court verdicts have already resolved the case.

“In these conditions, when the court declared that this meeting should not be summoned and that the councillors who voted there were gathered illegally, I don’t need to continue the trial and I withdrew the suit at the Fier Court, because these problems are already solved”, Ndreka declared.

Ndreka also insinuated that the judge was corrupted by Prime Minister Berisha, and that’s why he withdrew.

“I would ask the Prime Minister to implement the verdict, and I am sorry, but the Prime Minister and the judge of this case will not have the possibility to oppose the law and make enthusiastic everyone who supports illegal decisions”, Ndreka declared.

Rama reacts on Twitter

“The Albanian Prime Minister declared that the SP withdrew from Fier. No, SP has won in front of the people and the court. SP has not withdrawn. When you don’t recognize a court verdict, you cannot understand the logic of trials. The withholding of Fier is Prime Minister’s alibi”.

Subashi: We did not withdraw from Fier

The Socialist Party reacted through the Fier MP, Armando Subashi, after the Prime Minister declared that the SP withdrew from the Fier issue.

Subashi explained that they withdrew the suit from court because it was held for one year by a judge who is commanded by Berisha, and that all court decisions have been in favour of the Socialist Party.

“We asked the invalidation of the shameful meeting where Artur Shehu was elected as chairman, but the Fier issue has been delayed by a judge who received orders by Berisha. The Court has resolved this case saying that the mandates of the district councils are untouchable. This meeting summoned by the prefect has been completely illegal”, Subashi declared.

Subashi considered Berisha’s declarations as false and appealed him to not go against the court orders, but sit with the SP and resolve this issue from the political point of view, by opening way to the country’s integration.

“We did not withdraw from the Fier issue. Berisha has the court orders on the table, which has allowed the 11 councillors to sit in the council. Berisha has achieved nothing for the integration issue, and this is the proof. We appeal him to sit and dialogue so that we can resolve the integration issue. This issue has been resolved by the legal point of view. Justice has spoken and it is on our side”, the SP MP declared.
