The former governor of the Albanian Bank of Albania, Shkëlqim Cani,
declared that the progress of the European crisis warns other
difficulties for the Albanian economy.
Mr. Çani declared that the effects will be felt in many directions, firstly in the exchange rates of the European currency, now threatened.
“When someone will think that the effect of the Euro will be strong, there will be great movements with the exchange rates. When import-export will be limited, when the purchase of production machinery and other appliances will be limited, everyone would think to wait until the big waves go away, before sailing their ship at sea”, Cani declared.
But the insecurities in the currency rates are not the only one. The inclusion of Italy in the financial vortex will hit the Albanian economy in the field of manpower export as well.
“Every movement in the Italian, Greek and European economy will be reflected at our emigrants. The emigrants reflect with the money they send to their families, and our economy is connected to this source”, Cani declared.
Greece and Italy are two greatest economic partners of Albania, both of them facing the pressure of the crisis.
