A grave event was recorded today in Vidhishtë of Roskovec, in southwestern Albania.
61-year-old Xhevair Hoxha stabbed to death his son’s wife Merushe Hazizi, and then committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree behind his house.
According to the police, the 61-year-old has had debates in the family before, as he was against his son’s marriage to his daughter-in-law, who in part had three children from a previous marriage. These latter lived with her ex-husband.
This is thought to have been the reason for the rejection of this marriage by the man’s father Xhevair Hoxha, who had sadly warned that he would do such a thing.
The family made a living by farming.
