For the first time in Peqin, the “Agrotourism Fair” has been organized, which aims to promote the agricultural products of the area’s farmers.
Several dozen farmers participated in this organization in the hope of advertising their products, as in addition to traditional products, there were also special crops such as kiwi or sweet potato.
“This is the sweet potato that our traders get from abroad, but I have been experimenting with it for 4 years and I have introduced it into my crops” – said one of the area’s farmers.
With its hills covered by olive trees, the area of Peqin is especially known for the production of olive oil, which is now widely exported.
“Very high quality, very good” – say the producers of olive oil.
The Municipality of Beijing intends to turn the fair into a tradition to help farmers to ensure a sales market and satisfactory prices.
“We will make it a party every time, because this area deserves it, and we will make it as easy as possible for these farmers, by promoting their products,” said Bukurosh Maçi, mayor of Peqin.
In addition to the agricultural products, the traditional costumes that were exhibited and the handicrafts of the women of Peqin, gave an even more traditional appearance to the fair.
