9-year old Ervin Ndreka lost his life on Wednesday after being hit on the head with a hard object by a mentally ill 25 year old man.
The child from Luar village of Kuman commune, Berat district, was playing near his grandparents’ house when the tragic event happened, as a relative tells.
“I found him hitting the child with a wooden board. He has shown aggressive signs even before. My son came home and told me to run outside, because he was killing him”, the relative tells.
Other relatives of the victim showed their concern on why an aggressive mentally ill person was left wandering uncontrolled.
“Hospital authorities should not let dangerously ill people leave hospitals. Law should be respected”, declares a relative. “Who has signed his hospital release? Do we have a government or not”, says another revolted relative.
Police arrested the killer and requested help from the hospital, due to his mental conditions.
