Families removed from social welfare, Basha: “Government, holocaust against its own people”

In today’s Democratic Party parliamentary group meeting, the opposition leader, Lulzim Basha, accused the government of making holocaust by removing families from the social welfare scheme.
“Dozens of thousands of Albanian families were criminally removed from the social welfare scheme. This is an inhuman drama and national emergency. We have a Prime Minister who is using genocide, Nazi cleansing methods against his own people”, Basha said.
The Democratic Party leader said that the opposition has been notified by thousands of families, and they are working to understand the proportions of this holocaust, as he called it.
“There is no other choice for these families. They will either die or create a new immigration wave towards the EU. The Minister should be investigated for a criminal act, because she doesn’t tell what criteria was used for removing these families form the social welfare scheme. They say that the criteria included the presence of TV or refrigerator sets. Some families could have a donated TV. The law is clear that the social welfare scheme covers families that have no income. Owning a TV set doesn’t mean you have no income. This is power abuse”, Basha said.
He added that the Democratic Party will formalize this request with a motion for debate.
