Faith: Court decision to be respected

The head of the International Civil Office, Peter Faith, asked the
Kosovo institutions and citizens to respect the decision of the
Constitutional Court for the immunity of their MPs.

Faith declared that the decision of the Constitutional Court must not create concerns, but must be greeted, because it gives a solution to a very important matter.

The head of the ICO avoided comments for the possibility of arresting some Kosovo MPs who are under investigation, underlining that this was not his competence.

“However, I hope that the responsible institutions will know what to do about this”, Faith declared.

The reaction of Faith comes two days after the Kosovo Constitutional Court ruled that the Kosovo officials will not be immune to criminal prosecution for the actions undertaken outside their competences, opening way to the arrest of the Democratic Party MP, Fatmir Limaj.

Limaj is suspected of corruption while managing the Ministry of Transports, for which he appeared twice at the Special Prosecution in the recent days.
